The Feast of Visitation of The Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth.
In this event, as with others, The Canon of Scripture presents Mary as the archetypal Ark of the Covenant, prefigured by King David's retrieval of the Ark in the 2nd Book of Samuel, Chapter 6, even using the same language to describe the place and John the Baptist's reaction in his mother Elizabeth's womb in Chapter 1 of Luke's Gospel.
Here also is found a Biblical reference to Mary's title as Mother of God, which was upheld at the Council of Ephesus, fittingly as it is where she lived the last of her days on Earth and was assumed into Heaven.
